STEP C7000 HAYASHIMU Elevator Control Cabinet

The STEP C7000 Control Cabinet represents a state-of-the-art elevator drive and control solution designed to meet the demands of modern vertical transportation systems. Carefully engineered by STEP Electric, this integrated control cabinet merges advanced drive technology, flexible control configuration, compact mechanical design and improved thermal management — making it ideal for new installations as well as modernization of existing elevator systems.

At its core, the C7000 is crafted to manage the elevator’s motor, braking, safety circuits, door operation and control logic in one unified enclosure. The result: simplified wiring, streamlined installation, enhanced reliability and reduced footprint. The cabinet supports single, duplex and group elevator control configurations — enabling system designers to deploy it in a wide range of building types from residential mid-rise to high-traffic commercial towers.

Design & Key Features
STEP has integrated several innovations into the C7000’s physical design. The cabinet door structure is re-designed to improve internal airflow and cooling — essential for maintaining drive electronics within optimal temperature bands even under heavy use. The moulded shell is lighter and stronger, giving the same external dimensions from 5.5 kW through 22 kW models — which simplifies installation standardization.

From a performance standpoint, the C7000 supports motor ratings from 5.5 kW to 22 kW for the standard version, and beyond for higher power variants (see manual). The cabinet is compatible with both synchronous and asynchronous motors, giving flexibility to adapt to gearless or geared traction machines. It supports speeds up to 2.5 m/s under standard configuration, and in some references up to 6 m/s for group/large systems.

Control & Safety Logic
The control system features vector/PID control techniques to deliver smooth acceleration and deceleration, precise level-flooring and comfort during start/stop transitions. According to its operating manual, the drive enables a speed control range of 1:1000 and speed control precision of ±0.02 % under optimal conditions. Safety is embedded via dedicated circuits monitoring door locks, safety gears, brake statuses and communications — ensuring compliance with international elevator safety standards.

Installation & Flexibility
With its compact size and multiple mounting options (ground-mounted or wall-mounted), the C7000 is adaptable to varied machine-room or machine-room-less (MRL) configurations. The MRL version’s dimensions (1780 × 400 × 220 mm) allow for slim installation in tight spaces. Its pre-wiring and connector-board architecture reduce onsite wiring labor and accelerate commissioning time.

Applications & Benefits
The STEP C7000 is suited for residential, commercial and institutional buildings. Whether you’re installing a mid-rise elevator in an apartment building or a high-rise group system in an office tower, the C7000 delivers performance and reliability. The ability to manage up to 128 floors and coordinate in group control modes expands its suitability for large scale deployments.

Benefits include:

  • Lower installation and wiring time thanks to integrated design.

  • Improved thermal management (cooling design) for enhanced component lifespan.

  • Flexibility in motor compatibility and speed/load ratings.

  • Embedded safety features for peace of mind and compliance.

  • Compact footprint especially beneficial in machine-room-less installations.

  • Efficient commissioning and maintenance via modular connectors and menu-based system parameterization.
